The Entrepreneur Union

Entrepreneurs are dreamers and fiercely committed to their ideas. The work and expense required to convert an idea into an asset and then turn it into a viable business overwhelms the resources of most small entrepreneurs.

Consider these four facts: Approximately 75% of the value of U.S. public companies is accounted for in intellectual property. In the past decade U.S. entrepreneurs started an average of 600,000 new businesses each year. 50% of these new firms begin with less than $5,000. The vast majority of these firms fail.

These facts suggest there is an enormous market for a service business that works rapidly to help entrepreneurs leverage their intellectual property and garner the necessary resources to give their businesses a chance to grow past infancy.

American Pioneer Ventures is a business that works with visionaries at the earliest stage of a new venture, taking an idea and putting it on stable footing – through patent brokering, fund raising, and strategic partnership building – so that entrepreneurs can get on with building a business.

Some of the ventures we serve will succeed and others will fail. Entrepreneurs know their work is risky. Working with entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of a new venture, APV can offer these entrepreneurs the Entrepreneur Union as a tool for hedging the risk of failure.

The Entrepreneur Union is an entrepreneurial hedge fund mechanism, where all client companies of American Pioneer Ventures pledge a predetermined percentage of their equity to the fund and gain a share in the fund. By participating, any entrepreneur who has retained American Pioneer Ventures, immediately gains equity in many other companies, at the ground level valuation. In this manner, an entrepreneur receives a significant chance increase of sharing in a successful startup.

American Pioneer Ventures has created The Entrepreneur Union as an integral part of its service. As such, all clients of American Pioneer Ventures are encouraged to participate in the fund.

The Entrepreneur Union fund disburses dividends according to each portfolio company’s disbursements to shareholders. American Pioneer Ventures board of directors is in charge of decisions regarding exit strategies for the funds’ portfolio companies.

The only way to gain a share in The Entrepreneur Union is by becoming a client of American Pioneer Ventures as a startup and pledging equity to the funds’ pool. This is how The Entrepreneur Union is kept for real entrepreneurs only.
